O ENSINO DA ARTE NOS DIAS ATUAIS

Abstract

The following study is based on a literature review focused on contemporary art education and its importance for the education of children and young people. Art is a means for human beings to express their emotions, history, and culture through aesthetic values ​​such as beauty, harmony, and balance. Art manifests in various forms, most notably music, sculpture, painting, cinema, and dance, among others. Art education is guided by the National Curriculum Parameters (PCNs). When discussing art, we refer to more than just drawing; the scope includes painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, architecture, objects, ceramics, basketry, woodcarving, photography, fashion, graphic arts, cinema, television, video, digital media, performance art, holography, industrial design, and computer art (BRASIL, 1998, p. 63). Furthermore, we must not overlook theater and music, along with their unique characteristics and nuances. Considering art education means considering creativity; for the educator, it involves determining what one wishes to develop or achieve, while for the student, it involves bringing something "invisible"—such as a feeling or sensation—to the surface and translating it into a concrete form. It is the teacher's role to assist the student in making this transition. There are various ways to reach students, ranging from familiar, simple methods like drawing to more complex ones like music and theater; the array of resources and ideas is vast. We will not always succeed—a student might not connect with one resource but might resonate with another—so it is up to the teacher to diversify their lessons. Ultimately, all resources, technologies, and teaching skills share the overarching goal of fostering the student's holistic and globalized development, ensuring they are—at the very least—prepared for the world outside the classroom.
