A RELEVÂNCIA DA ATUAÇÃO FONOAUDIOLÓGICA EM PACIENTES ECOLÁLICOS COM TRANSTORNO DO ESPECTRO AUTISTA

Abstract

Echolalia is a speech disorder characterized by the repetition of what the individual has said or what their interlocutor has said. The individual systematically reverberates the spoken sequence. As such, this disorder is considered an obstacle to speech and language development. Objective: To investigate the relevance of speech therapy intervention in echolalic patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Methodology: A systematic literature review was carried out, with the guiding question being: what is the relevance of speech therapy in echolalic patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder? The study period covers the first half of 2024. Included in the study will be articles that obtain results related to the importance of speech therapy in echolalic patients with ASD, being available in the Google Scholar, Lilacs and Scientific Eletronic Library Online (SciELO) databases between the years 2018 to 2022. Results: The final sample resulted in 10 articles, 30% taken from the SciELO database, 20% from Lilacs and 50% from Google Scholar, which were eligible for reading and able to constitute the systematic review. Conclusion: Conclude the effectiveness of speech therapy intervention given its contribution to improving functional communication through oral language and receptive and expressive language stimuli.
